Channing Tatum revealed the unknown details of the divorce with the mother of his son

At one point, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan were one of the most well-known and beloved couples in Hollywood. The couple first met during an audition on the set of the 2006 movie “Step Up,” where they showed off their famous dance moves. The two hit it off from there and a few years later, in 2009, they got married. The couple tied the knot in front of family and friends on private property in Malibu, California.

Several years later, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan released a joint statement, revealing to fans that they were ready to take a different path in life, one that drove them apart. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together,” the couple wrote in a joint statement on Instagram. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that takes us on different paths for now.” The couple added that their main focus would be on their only daughter, Everly.

Dewan addressed the split with Channing Tatum in his 2019 book, “Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day,” via People, stating that his “dynamic” with Tatum “wasn’t serving me or my daughter”. She added: “First of all, I had to come to terms with the realization that this wasn’t working and it had hurt me.” Now, Tatum is tackling the division like he’s never done before.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan got married in 2009

Shortly after People named Channing Tatum the “Sexiest Man Alive,” the actor claimed that all was not well, even though he was doing pretty well professionally. “He was working a lot. He had worked with some of my favorite directors,” the star told the outlet. “He had checked boxes that I would never have expected to dream of. But something just didn’t quite fill me.”

Channing Tatum confessed that he realized that the depression he was in was not due to his professional life, but to his marriage. “We fought about it for a long time, even though we both knew we had grown apart,” Tatum confessed. The pair tried to play it cool for a while before realizing they weren’t that close. ” But when we’re actually parents, we really understand the differences between the two of us ,” he said, adding that the two raised and looked at “the world” differently. Once he and Dewan parted ways, he focused on himself and his daughter, Everly, whom he called his “best friend of his.” Then something good comes out of bad.
