Gigi Hadid’s time as a redhead is over. The supermodel, who has been dabbling with darker hair dye since her Versace autumn/winter 2021 catwalk comeback, showed that she’ll always be a blonde at heart by returning to a bleached-out look that suits her girl-next-door beauty.
After months of strawberry, chilli and siren emojis – how else to say you’re chuffed with your fiery alter ego on Insta? – Hadid was photographed in New York wearing a hot-red boilersuit that had a decidedly can-do attitude about it. Zipped up over black basics and stomper boots, Gigi’s mane of fresh blonde locks cascaded down from her beanie. It was a look that said “don’t mess with me”, and in the wake of a media storm around her relationship with Zayn Malik, spoke a thousand words.
It’s not to say we won’t miss Gigi’s hair journey from Versace glamazon red to faded out chestnut and shiny copper. Hadid experimented with some of her most memorable beauty during this phase – from feline eyeliner flicks made dramatic in blue and orange to new glossy ways with Bardot-inspired up ’dos and lash-skimming fringes. But something tells us this is a new chapter of her journey and the Maybelline ambassador, whose glowy make-up tutorials delight her 70 million fans, will surely have sleek new ways of framing her ultimate beach blonde hair. It’s beginning to look a lot like Gigi Hadid again.
