Tobey Maguire Trends After Loki Finale Opens The Multiverse

Tobey Maguire Spider-Man

The sixth and final episode of Loki‘s first season completely redefined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even if we haven’t seen any real changes yet. Jonathan Majors’ lengthy monologues as Kang the Conqueror explained things pretty neatly, with all sorts of He Who Remains variants on their way to wreak havoc across any number of potential timelines.

The Disney Plus series ended with Tom Hiddleston’s title hero discovering that Sylvie had kicked him into the wrong reality, with a huge Kang statue now towering over TVA headquarters, and his new best buddy and jet ski enthusiast Mobius had no idea who he even was. Audiences have so many questions that need answered, so it was a little surprising that one of the many things trending in the aftermath of Loki was Tobey Maguire.

Admittedly, it’s not all that shocking really when MCU supporters have been waiting on tenterhooks for confirmation that Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man will be returning alongside Andrew Garfield in December’s No Way Home, but the 46 year-old was one of the hottest topics of conversation once the doors to the multiverse were officially open, as you can see from the reactions below.

Take aways from Loki:

1. Loki is the best character in the MCU and deserves to be face of it

2. That main bad guy if that’s who i believe it is, is going to give Thanos a run for his money

3. definitely getting Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the new Spider-Man #Loki pic.twitter.com/A44TOMYd9T

Loki really showed us the Multiverse man. Somewhere in all that madness was Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, The X-men and Fantastic 4… so crazy to think about

The possibility of Tobey Maguire suiting up again after Loki basically broke the door down to the Multiverse is driving me insane. pic.twitter.com/VGuNCWKBkX

We’re still waiting on that first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, with fans working themselves up into a frenzy over nothing on more than one occasion already, but it shouldn’t realistically be too far away, especially with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals coming to theaters in September and November, respectively.

Whether it confirms Maguire and Garfield’s returns or not is entirely up for debate, but Loki definitely set the stage for both the next Spidey blockbuster and the rest of Phase Four in spectacular fashion.
